What types of documents do Parents need to submit to get the baby’s birth certificate? 

The types of documents required for parents to submit to get the baby’s birth certificate are different for UAE nationals and other nationals. 

For UAE National 

The UAE parent needs to submit the following documents to get the baby’s birth certificate: 

  • Original and valid Emirates IDs of both the parent
  • Second, the valid passport of both the parent
  • Parents’ original marriage certificate. They also need to submit the family book. If it is not electronic, then the parents need to submit the original one, however, if it is electronic then the printed form will also work. 
  • Birth details from the certificate attested by government officials
  • Lastly, they need to submit their credit card or bank card for payment. 

For Other Nationals

If the parent’s nationality is other than the UAE, then they need to submit the following documents to get the baby’s birth certificate. 

  • Valid Emirates IDs of both parents. Please note that both the IDs should be in their original form. 
  • The original passports of both parents would also be needed for getting the baby’s birth certificate.
  • Third, they need to submit their original marriage certificate. If the original marriage certificate is in a language other than Arabic, then the parent needs to submit an attested Arabic-translated marriage certificate.
  • Birth details from the hospitals attested by government officials. 
  • Fourth, they need to have a valid residence visa. It should be in its original form. However, if the parents are on a visit visa, then the printed form of the residence visa can also work. 
  • Credit card or bank card for payments. 

If the nationality of the parents is different, the child will get the father’s nationality.
